    Dear BPW Colleagues,

barb The grass is not always greener on the other side. I know there are many times that it appears that someone has better things than you, or their life is easier, or they have a nicer house, or they have perfect children. Rather than focusing on what they have, focus on what you have. Whether you realize it or not, many people are looking at you thinking you have so much that they would like to have. Their grass may look greener on your side.

If you take a few minutes daily and count your blessing you will begin to feel your way to your own green pastures. Waking up in the morning is a blessing, having running water is a blessing, having food in your cupboard is a blessing, having family or friends that you can hug and smile with is a blessing. So many of us take for granted the majority of things that surround us.

When we start to look at the little things in our lives as blessings and appreciate what we have, what we have starts to expand. When we are appreciative of our friends, more friends come into our lives. When we appreciate the love that comes from our animals, our animals give us more love. Never underestimate the power of these moments. The moment you stop to look at what is right in front of you and appreciate it, you will begin to feel wonderful immediately. My wish for you is that today you begin to appreciate the simplicity, the sense of accomplishment you have from recognizing your own green pastures.

Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua President 2009-2010
