Your expertise, enthusiasm and commitment to a greater BPW-Nashua are needed by the following committees:

  • Careerist

Come to a meeting. Find the Chairperson for the committee of your choice. Volunteer!

    Dear BPW Colleagues,

Susan Weidner Cooke, President February meeting will be held in the Library room at the Crowne Plaza instead of our usual space, The Hunt Room. This room is at the end of the dining room where we get the buffet. If you have any problems finding it, please ask at the front desk and they will direct you.

We are excited to announce that Nashua Business and Professional Women's Association is going to be having a booth at the Women's Expo in Manchester on February 16th. There are many ways as a member that you can utilize this opportunity without paying for your own booth:
  • Sign up to help at the booth while it is open. You get to meet the people who stop by, hand out information and be part of all the activities at the Expo. Please contact me by calling 578-9899 X203, if you want to help with this.
  • Members can contribute to drawings that will take place throughout the day. This not only advertises our organization, but your business, too. Contact Kimberlie at khoffman@adreamkitchen.com for more information.
  • Members can also add to a basket that will be given away in a drawing. Again this is a great way to advertise your business and support your organization. Contact Kimberlie a khoffman@adreamkitchen.com to participate in this.
  • And get the word out to visit our booth. We want all women to know of our organization and see what an asset we are to workingwomen everywhere.

EAT OUT on Thursday, February 28th at Uno's on Amherst Street
We will be handing out vouchers for people to eat out on the 28th. Whether you eat in or take out, by simply bringing a voucher from us Nashua BPW will get a portion of you check. There is no limit on the number of people who can eat, but you do have to have voucher. You can e-mail me for them at scooke@nefnashua.com or pick one up at our booth at the expo. This is a great way for members, non-members, and people in the community to support the organization and get a delicious meal!

Another reminder of the Social to take place at Pam Richardson's house in Hollis on Tuesday, February the 5th. This is open to members and nonmembers. For more information contact Pam at pam@inhotwaterteas.com

Just a reminder that for the month of February, our meeting will be in a different room at the Crown Plaza. We know this is not ideal and appreciate your understanding. We have been very happy with the Crown Plaza and feel we can make this minor adjustment for one month.

Thank you again to everyone who works so hard to support our organization. We have a lot of benefits to becoming a member and participating in our events, meetings and committees. If you are not involved and would like to be, please contact me at 578-9899 X203.

I look forward to seeing you at the expo and at our February meeting on the 21st.

Susan Weidner Cooke
President

    February 21st BPW Meeting

Did you know that "Color" can affect your bottom line? Color plays a major role in our everyday lives. Whether used in painting walls, branding, websites or buying the perfect blue power suit for your important meeting. Color evokes many different feelings such as happiness, sadness, anger or relaxation which in turn can enhance your business image if chosen correctly.

Mitzi Davidson, of Mitzi Window Fashion & Interiors will offer a tantalizing insight into the world of Color. Mitzi will show how different colors affect us in our homes, offices and business dealings. She will touch on the latest color trends for 2008 and present a mini window fashion show.

Mitzi is in her 6th year as a window fashions specialist helping clients choose the right style fabrics and colors for their homes and businesses She attends design conferences every year to stay currant with the rapidly changing industry. She is a Carnegie Mellon University graduate in Music and Design. Come join us for a fun and informative look at the INFLUENCE OF COLOR.

Luncheon price is $16 for current members, members are welcome to bring a guest for additional $10 and anyone who joins at the meeting, guest luncheon price is $26. Included with lunch are cold beverages, coffee, and dessert.

POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
By Kimberlie Hoffmann
Having lived in D.C. for seven year's as well as Texas, Arkansas, Mass and now New Hampshire, I'm happy to be in a State where you can freely talk Politics! We take our moto very seriously. While talking politics is usually 'politically incorrect', I'm going to encourage you to participate in an open invitation. Now that the number of potential Presidential Candidates has narrowed I'd love to hear you're thoughts and projections for the 2008 election. I encourage you to email me at Khoffmann@adreamkitchen.com your political picks, opinions, comments, areas of concern - what ever you'd like to share. BPW is still very active sending letters to Congress with regards to the Family Leave Act and Equal Pay for Women. We've also been very supportive of our Military Women who are re-entering the work force. The Conference is coming up in February, I won't be attending this year but will keep you posted as to what was discussed and anything of importance in next months Newsletter. In the mean time, let's get some political discussion going and see if we can predict the next President and Vice President of our United States.
