"Keeping Yourself Safe"
Date: Thursday, June 17,
2010
Time: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location:
Crowne Plaza
Hotel, Exit 8, Nashua, NH
Safety for women begins with trusting your instincts and reacting quickly to
the first signs of danger. Avoiding a physical confrontation by stopping an
assault before it starts is the most important element of personal safety.
Deb Carney will speak about specific behaviors to pay attention to when
interacting with others, and basic tips that you can use in your everyday
life to help keep you safe.
Deb
Carney
is a security professional at Liberty Guard Service based in Milford NH, and
has taught women's and teens' safety programs through her local police
department as a certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Basic Defense
Instructor since 2001.
She is a frequent presenter at many local organizations including a
community outreach program for pre-teens to coincide with National Dating
Violence Prevention Month at Clark University. Educating our daughters
before they encounter controlling and dangerous behaviors in their
relationships is the first step in prevention.
Our sponsor this month is The Security Group
(including Liberty Guard Service) which offers and provides the highest
quality security services and customer satisfaction in regional security
services. LGS provides security for government, courthouses, private
corporations, international cruise lines, small businesses, and residential
clients. The Security Group
provides security officers, mobile patrol services, access control systems,
video security monitoring, and comprehensive security consultation and
implementation.
